Expansive Views Of The Gulf, Beach and Nature Sanctuaries From Beach Front Gem

Bring your family and be one of the first to experience the perfect beachfront island vacation at the Beach Sanctuary. Enjoy the amazing views from three levels of this stunning and well-appointed architectural home. Perfectly located toward the southern tip of Estero Island (Fort Myers Beach), the house was designed to maximize your appreciation of one of the more beautiful spots in the world. With a beautiful large sandy beach directly in front of the house, you will also enjoy looking at Lovers Key to the left and the pleasure boat traffic going between the islands, and nature preserves to the right of the beach. The bird watching from one of the three balconies is second to none.
Perfect for three to four couples or large extended families, this newly renovated and beautifully furnished house can comfortably sleep up to ten guests. Keep yourself and the kids active with healthy activities! In addition to enjoying the warm Gulf of Mexico waters from your beach. And if you get an afternoon tropical rain shower, or if the sun gets too hot, you can take a walk into town (Santini Plaza area) and get an ice cream cone. Don't forget to come back in the evening for dinner at one of the excellent restaurants there, ride the bikes or walked down the beach to the tiki bars about a mile north on the beach, or make use of the outdoor BBQ grill at the house with the fresh fish and shrimp for the local farmers market.

For fishermen, the fishing from the beach is renowned as the tides going in and out of the bay pass right by. Boat rentals and fishing charters are available at the Fish Tale Marina behind Santini Plaza, and there are numerous golf courses a short drive away.
The house features a king-size master suite with a beautiful bathroom. The other two large bedrooms have king-size beds. The top floor "loft" has double bed/trundle/bunks and sleeping in beds for four, along with a spectacular view and direct access to the loft deck!

The beach is a wonderful swimming beach. Don't worry about packing beach towels as we provide them.

The house is at the very southern end of the island. So, less traffic than further north on the island, and it is very easy and fast from here to get onto the mainland and back and forth to the airport.

The beach is large and the water’s edge is about a three-minute walk from the house.

Notes on the area:
To get your bearings, you are at the southern end of Estero Island, otherwise known as the town of Fort Myers Beach. It is one in a series of barrier islands (or Keys) that are along the Florida coast.

Just walking out on the beach you can see amazing things: Head to the water's edge and you may see dolphins swimming by and amazing sea birds. If you turn right and walk up the beach you will immediately find yourself in a nature preserve that makes you feel like you are on a desert island. People love to walk up the beach, and at low tide, you can find some beautiful shells. If you walk up north about a mile, just past the preserve, you will come to a hotel with a nice tiki bar and restaurant called Pinchers Crab Shack. There's another tiki bar a little further up.

If you head north along the main road, Estero Blvd., about a mile up, you will come to Santini Plaza. This is a commercial center that has numerous restaurants and cafes and shops. Truly Scrumptious is the place to go for ice cream and American breakfast and coffee. The South Beach Grill has the highest quality food in there for dinner, but the other restaurants are all good. On Tuesdays, there is a farmer's market in Santini Plaza which has excellent produce, as well as seafood and barbecued meats.
Just past Santini Plaza is the CVS pharmacy, where you can get not only all your pharmacy needs but they also carry some basic food like eggs, butter, milk, bread, cereal, coffee, etc.

Just behind Santini Plaza is the Fish Tale Marina. Here you can rent powerboats to take out yourself, and also hire a guided fishing boat for a day-long fishing trip if you want.
A little further north along Estero Blvd is Charley's Boathouse which is a good family restaurant with an excellent salad bar and good fish dishes, and there is also a cinema around there.

The major supermarket for the island is called Publix and is in the middle of the island, so about 3 miles north of the house on the right-hand side. Behind Publix is a marina and also the Bayside Bistrot - a very good restaurant. If you continue north on the island you eventually will come to the North End. This has a totally different feel - very relaxed with lots of bars and restaurants. This is where the younger people go to party and has a totally different "vibe" from the south end. It can be very fun, but the traffic heading north can be difficult due to the construction work going on on Estero Blvd.

Very close to you, just across the bridge, is the Lover's Key State Park. This is another beautiful nature preserve with trails. Also just across the bridge is a resort on the left (bayside) that has a nice waterfront restaurant. I think they also rent kayaks in there as well.

If you continue south over the bridges and islands you will shortly come to Big Hickory Island, and on your left is the Big Hickory Grill. Continuing south you will eventually come back onto the mainland in Bonita springs, and further on you can get to Naples. This is where to go if you want to do any bigger shopping. It's also where you would go if you want to golf as there are a number of golf courses in that area.

Many people want to go to Sanibel and Captiva Islands, and this makes a wonderful day-trip. These are the next islands north of Estero Island. They are quite easy to get to, but with the traffic on the north end of Fort Myers Beach, you would want to leave fairly early in the morning to get off the island to the north before the traffic builds up. Just stay on the main road (Estero Blvd) which then becomes San Carlos Road once you cross the bridge onto the mainland. Keep going until you see an overpass highway, and turn left there onto Summerlin Road. Stay on that and you will shortly come to the causeway and bridge over to Sanibel. But if you go, plan on staying the day so you come back late enough in the afternoon or early evening so you don't hit the traffic of people trying to get onto Fort Myers Beach.

NOTES:. NO pets allowed! The minimum age to rent is 30. Air conditioning is set at 74 during the day. You have the ability to turn it down at night.
